Hot Jazz Closed for CHEX

Hello everyone,

We will not be having a dance at Spirit Moves this Friday, the 18th. We are taking the night off to attend The Charleston Lindy Exchange (Chex). They will be having dances all weekend long starting on Thursday night at the BDC and will have live band dances on both Friday and Saturday nights. I will be the opening DJ on Thursday and will be around all weekend dancing with as many people as I can. This is a great opportunity to dance with out of town dancers and dance to the music of some different bands and out of town DJ’s. Should be fun!

Belly Dance Student Showcase!

Dancing Beena Events!

Hello friends,

Hope you are all doing well. You are cordially invited to DancingBeena’s events this June. We have lots of fun events in Charleston this summer and your calendars are probably filling up quickly. Hopefully you can fit in one of these events.

Tickets can be purchased directly from me, from the links below or at the door on the day of the event. Please come and support DancingBeena’s BellyDance program.

Event #1 – Sat, June 2 – BellyDance Student Showcase @ Spirit Moves
This year’s ticket sales will benefit for Camille’s school, Pattison’s Academy. Pattison’s serves children with severe and multiple disabilities and exposes them a community inclusive rehabilitative program that is completely integrated with an educational environment. Event starts at 7:30pm and ends with a cocktail reception and dancing around 10 pm

Event #2 – Fri, June 8, 7:30 to 8:30 pm – Karim Nagi Performance @ American Theatre
I have invited one of my instructors, Karim Nagi, to perform in Charleston. Karim is a native Egyptian musician, drummer, DJ, folk dancer and orator. His newest CD and performance “Arabized” celebrates the synthesis of his music, dance and narrative messages. He will be performing this show at The American Theatre on King Street.

Event #3 – Sat, June 9 – Hafla Around The World-Dance Party @ Spirit Moves
This is a dance party for the community. It is a chance to meet Karim as well as an opportunity for us to get together and celebrate the joy of dance. Appetizers and drinks will be served in between dancing. Tickets will be available at the door. Event starts at 7:30pm and ends with a cocktail reception and dancing around 10 pm

If you need more information, please feel free to call me. Also feel free to forward this to your friends, family, co-workers and the facebook community. The more the merrier.

Thank you and hope to see you dancing soon,
Beena (Mary)
